Mike Gambro

Mike began playing guitar in grade school, shaped early on by the melodic talent and songwriting of The Beatles. As his musical tastes evolved, he gravitated toward heavier guitar sounds—drawing inspiration from Cream, Black Sabbath, and Jimi Hendrix—and later discovering the soulful improvisation of the Allman Brothers. That journey eventually led him to the sophisticated sensibilities of Steely Dan, rounding out a musical foundation that blends power, nuance and groove.

Musical ambitions were set aside when he entered law school, launching a demanding career as a Wall Street lawyer and later moving to Los Angeles to open a new office for the firm. Yet music never fully let go. After returning, he rekindled his passion and, together with Dave Bondy, formed Lenox Underground. For more than 20 years, Lenox Underground has been a creative constant, dedicated not only to compelling live performances but also to making a meaningful impact beyond the stage through the Lenox Underground Foundation, using music as a way to give back to the community.
