Lenox Underground is a cover band with six people and six sets of opinions. One thing we agree on is playing great music with a purpose – to support music education through the Lenox Underground Foundation. Come out to hear us play, or hire us for your event.

Has been playing guitar since grade school, Was, and still is, a big fan of the classic rock guitar gods like Clapton, Duane Allman, Hendrix. Now digs Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Slash, John Mayer.
Dropped music for a career as a “Wall Street” lawyer and to become a family man. Got back into music a few years ago when his wife bought him a new amp (what a wife!). You name it–rock, blues, jazz–he’ll play it. Favorite color, red. Emotional release–writing songs, and swearing on the golf course.

Born in the deep south, where he developed his influential R&B, soul and funk bass style. He was a founding member of the Funk Brothers, and he performed on more number one hits than any other musician. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
That’s James Jamerson – not Dave Bondy
But he can dream…

Lauren has been singing since forever. Studied music in college and appeared in several cabarets and even an opera!
Loves all kinds of music, and makes a point of seeing Elvis Costello & Richard Thompson whenever possible.
Owns a marketing company (check us out at www.moldave-cook.com!). When not working or singing, Lauren enjoys cycling and hiking.
Motto: “Don’t sweat the petty stuff and don’t pet the sweaty stuff.”
Vocals
Former banker who breeds large humans. Tracy loves wine, is ambivalent about chocolate and is totally non-competitive, unless you challenge her.
Never stopped singing, but recently took up electronic keyboards after a 30-year hiatus, and can now answer questions the Yamaha tech support folks can’t figure out.
Advice to her children: Love and be loved, use your gifts, do good in the world.
Keyboard and Vocals
Will drive long distances on his Harley for work or fun. Has strong opinions on what is cool.
Values family time above all and spends many afternoons watching his girls play sports.
Lawyer by day, slowly taking over the universe.
Drum and Vocals
He mimics tunes off the radio faster than a speeding bullet, Brian was dubbed the “Human Jukebox” at an early age.
From the humble beginnings of Stairway to Heaven and Smoke on the Water, which Lenox has banned from the set list, he now carries a new tune – his only kryptonite being polkas, Muzak, and commercial jingles.
He’s working on changing his moniker to the “Human iPod”, because 99 cents is really a better deal. But as of today, $.25 will get Brian to play any tune you want. Much as he’d like to keep the change, Brian & Lenox donate all their profits to charity.

The Lenox Underground Foundation was founded by LU members to support music education for young people. The Lenox Underground Scholarship for music students attending the Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School provides funds for music lessons for students meeting certain requirements. We also support Newark Boys Chorus School, Renaissance EMS and the Paterson Music Project. The Lenox Underground Foundation is a NJ tax-exempt corporation and a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt entity for federal tax purposes. Fees paid to Lenox Underground Foundation for the band’s services are generally tax deductible.
The members of Lenox Underground donate their time and energy to the band and Foundation. In addition, all funds raised through performances, CD sales and donations are used to support our charitable initiatives. To date, we have donated more than $35,000. We also donate the band to play at charitable events or as an auction item.
